I had been offered a screaming deal for an Israeli Kareen MKIII back in October. Unfortunately the deal fell through. I'm continuing my search for one but, given my present finances, it'll be a while before I can add a HP to my collection.

I've never seen one, but it's another one of the guys I'd really love in my collection due to the story behind it.

I don't know exactly how I missed this thread. I have a Browning hi power. Bought it back in the mid seventies. I've likely put 10k rounds though the ol girl. She is one sweet shooting gun. I call it my tack driver. I have no idea if the new models equal the quality of the old.. but they were very well made and work like a swiss watch. It's a heavy gun compared to most newer guns.. but man it sits still for ya. Love that gun. I put a hundred rounds though it today even. Just got it cleaned up. I would love to carry it but it's a bit light on the knock down and a bit heavy for the waist band.

I have short fingers. Even though it's a double stack, it's short from back strap to trigger. It fits my hand perfectly where so many double stacks give me the feeling of reaching a bit for the trigger and slide release.

Shot a friend's once. It just fits nicely into the palm and is easy to shoot well. John Moses Browning had a way with guns didn't he? Think about it:

    Winchester 1894 lever-action rifle
    Browning A5 shotgun
    M1911 pistol
    Browning High-Power pistol
    BAR (Browning Automatic Rifle)
    M2 .50 cal machine gun

Was watching some show on Browning at some point. Guy hosting it made the comment "How far along in other areas could we be, had Browning turned his brain those subjects?"

I'm glad he was into guns. We might be carrying rocks in our pockets for self defense if not lol.
